Give away an object you love.
I first read about this several years ago. It concerned an old rag doll a woman had as a child. Her young neighbor always admired it. One day, the woman gave it to the child and the woman was consumed with overwhelming happiness at the sharing of it.
I have since done it a couple of times. Once I gave a bracelet with the Lord's Prayer inscribed on it to a girl I didn't know who was being confirmed. Another time, I found out it was the birthday of an acquaintance. I wished her happy birthday and, in passing, she said she liked my bracelets. I was wearing half a dozen pink and orange sparkling bangles. I slipped them off and gave them to her.
It just happened to be bracelets in my case. But it doesn't matter if it's a doll, a book or a diamond and I don't seek any praise for telling you this. I only want you to find the joy in unexpected giving. It's fun!
