BOOK CLUBS - TALK & TOUR INFO

Reading Between the Wines Book Club
Attention Book Clubs:

We happily invite book clubs to plan a future meeting here on
Amelia Island, Florida, where author Jane Marie Malcolm will welcome you to her historic island town of Fernandina.

Included will be:

-A list of discussion questions will be emailed to the book club's contact person in advance of the meeting on Amelia Island.

-Lunch with Jane Marie Malcolm in one of several  local restaurants located in historic Fernandina on Amelia Island.  If available at the time of your meeting, we will eat at the Florida House, the oldest tourist hotel in Florida, one of the locations featured in The Goodbye Lie. If the Florida House is unavailable, the Crab Trap is another fine eatery.

-Jane Marie will lead a discussion about the series, something she likes to call Random Ricochets Off the Backsplash of My Mind, offering the who, what, where, why and how of The Goodbye Lie novels in the series.
-Jane Marie's unique hand painted Secret Pebbles and verses in organza gift bags will be on hand for viewing and purchase. These tiny treasures are available only at book signings.  They are not sold in stores.

-Jane Marie will sign any novels the members may have with them and make available all the books in the series for any who would like to purchase the paperbacks directly from the author.
-A small gift created by Jane Marie will be given to each book club member.

-A group photo of the group with the author will be taken and shared by email.

-A several block walking tour with Jane Marie pointing out particular buildings and other locations prominent in the books will conclude the activities.

-Club members generally arrive between noon and 12:30 and depart about three hours later.

-Guests may stay at any of the wonderful hotels and resorts on the island.  Additionally, there are several lovely bed and breakfast establishments located in the historic district, if desired, in keeping with the spirit of Victorian romance.

Reviews:

- Hi Jane Marie! We all had a fabulous time . You are so fun and entertaining. I'm just starting to read Velvet Undertow this week. Can't wait to see what happens to the characters in this book. P. S. All the gals enjoyed meeting you too.  -Susan G, Reading Between the Wines Book Club

- Jane Marie, I wanted to thank you for how "gracious" you were in meeting us and sharing a great evening of fun. We are meeting Friday with the rest of the girls who were not able to make it on the trip. They will be so jealous! It is true that we are officially "Good-bye Liars" since I know we will be back and not able to say good-bye to such a peaceful, relaxing place so full of history and stories that are waiting to be told. Now you just have to publish those stories, so we can read them! Thanks again for a wonderful step back into history.  - Bille C

- Dear Jane Marie,
You are everything gracious. You were bubbling over with facts from Amelia Island history  and architecture to the three-levels drinking fountain and pirates. You are just plain funny! The best part was the love you showed for your characters.  Your sincere concern for them and their happiness, in part, explains why we, your readers, are able to feel what they feel and laugh and cry with them, the same as you do when you write their stories.  You have a great gift for visually telling tales and actually taking us to some of the very places the characters were- Well, you brought them all to life for us. I expected to see Breelan or Peeper walking past me on Centre Street. All the gals in our book club are hooked and can't wait to read more about the Dunnigans.  Here is a huge thank you from us all.  - Sandy Z , All About Words Book Club
