Breelan Dunnigan writes:  I must agree, Jane Marie.  Mr. Pugh's words are simple, yet very instructive. Smiling is the answer to so many things.  When one is happy, you smile. That comes naturally. When you need to be brave, smile, if you can, so you appear to have courage.  When you need to endure a difficulty or hardship, for example Aunt Noreen and her acid tongue, smile.  A clever verbal jab works but momentarily with her so the best thing, according to my mama, Miss Ella, is to smile and nod.  I am reminded though that my father, is forever telling me to be cautious with my smiles in public.  I am not to direct them toward gentlemen I have yet to meet for fear they might get the wrong idea.  Oh, how Michael Dunnigan can be so overly protective.  Then again, I imagine most fathers are, in your time as well as mine.  Some things are cast in stone and always will be.
